Professor Quinn obtained his PhD from the University of New South Wales (1970). Professor Quinn was the foundation Director of Eskitis Institute for Cell and Molecular Therapies (now Griffith Institute for Drug Discover). Prof Quinn is a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for service to scientific research in the field of chemistry, and is recognised as a leader in the development of therapeutic compounds from marine organisms and plant materials (Australia Day Awards 2010). He has secured significant grant income (e.g. > $12 million from National Competitive Grants, > $3.6 million, from International Grants, > $102 million from Industry collaboration).
Dr Liu received her double PhD degree (2017) in natural product chemistry from Griffith University and the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences under the supervision of professors Ronald J Quinn and Lixin Zhang. She is currently a post-doctoral research fellow in the Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery (GRIDD).
Throughout her early academic career, she has studied natural product discovery and protein-ligand interactions using native mass spectrometry (MS) and could be considered internationally as one of the experts of this specialised research area.
Ian is currently Professor Emeritus, and an Adjunct Professor in the research group. His research interest includes reaction mechanisms, organic synthesis, medicinal chemistry, free radical chemistry, carbohydrate chemistry, organophosphorus chemistry, organometallic chemistry and polymer chemistry.
Augusta is a Lecturer and Researcher in the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Calabar, Nigeria. Her current project is to decode the molecular interaction of cellular/microbe metabolome and proteome and their central role in interactions with therapeutic targets.
Tin's project is focused on detecting protein-ligand complex from protein mixtures and cell lysate using mass spectrometry.
Matilda's project is focused on developing an indigenous medicine for the treatment of pain.
Tabassum's project is focused on discovery of indigenous medicine for the treatment of pain.
Xinru's PhD is the development of a MS-based platform to investigate interactions between ligands and disease-related membrane proteins.
